Elegant Modern Wine Cellar with Contemporary Lighting

This glass-enclosed wine cellar looks really beautiful from the outside.

Projects done in a hurry could end in disaster. This client wanted to have his wine cellar done in the shortest time possible. Steve and his team pushed themselves hard for this project, and they finished this elegant modern wine cellar in record time. The project was done in roughly 45 days. When they were finished, the wine cellar was completed and working perfectly as it was intended.

A Marvelous Modern Wine Cellar

Steve Pantalemon led his team of creatives and experts in materializing this magnificent modern wine cellar in Palm Springs. They enclosed the modern wine cellar in glass panels. And a metallic door handle highlights the modern design of the wine room. Inside, you can centrally see an array of triple deep Vintage View wine pegs. To balance things out, the team installed single deep wine pegs on each side. Keeping the wine storage area cool was the WhisperKOOL ceiling mount cooling unit. Lastly, adjustable LED lighting illuminates the wine cellar.

Aside from building the wine cellar, the team was also requested to help out the client in transporting his wine collection from Hollywood to Palm Spring. This is a very delicate task as the relative temperature between Hollywood and Palm Spring varies slightly. This small difference, as negligible as it may seem, could possibly affect the quality of the wines during travel. As a solution, Steve hired a refrigerated van to transport the wines to Palm Springs.

Minimalist Modern Wine Cellar Racking System

The orange back panel complements the metallic wine pegs.

Vintage View wine pegs were the material of choice for the racking system. Steve used this metallic wine cellar racking system to display wines in a modern way. It was installed rigidly to ensure that wines won’t fall off easily. The metallic finish for the wine pegs added more aesthetic value to the modern wine cellar. When viewed from a certain angle and distance, wine bottles appear to be floating in midair.

If you are looking to have a modern and contemporary look for your wine cellar, installing Vintage View metallic wine pegs would help bolster the modern design that you are aiming for. The minimalist way of storing and displaying your wine collection will excite your guest every time.

Behind the racking system is an orange back panel which seems to change color depending on the luminosity and color of the wine cellar lighting.

Efficient Wine Cellar Cooling System

The temperature in the wine room could be adjusted at the control panel near the single deep rack on the side.

To maintain the optimum temperature for wines in this modern wine cellar, the team installed a WhisperKOOL ceiling mount cooling unit. It is a split-type cooling unit where the evaporator unit, condensing unit, and all its wires are not housed in a single container. The parts are separated from each other. It is perfect for wine cellars that have a soffit where the rest of the parts could be kept and only the vent in the ceiling could be seen.  This ceiling mount cooling system from WhisperKOOL is also suitable for large wine cellars, especially those built in the middle of the home. Truly no one would want the condensing unit vent of a self-contained cooling unit dripping water droplets in the middle of their house.

The team placed the ducting system, condensing unit, and cables inside the soffit in the ceiling. You can only see the vent of the evaporating unit from the ceiling. The wine room looks clean because of the absence of the other parts in it. The optimum temperature for wines is continuously maintained inside the wine cellar by this cooling system. It is an efficient cooling system regardless of the fact that Palm Springs could be so scorching hot especially during the month of July.

The hottest recorded temperature in Palm Spring is 123°F. Phoenix doesn’t fall too far from that number at 122°F. Taking note of both temperature extremes from both Phoenix and Palm Spring, this wine cooling system would work seamlessly for your wine cellar if you’re planning to build a wine cellar in Phoenix.

Contemporary Wine Cellar Lighting System

Wine cellar lighting is a make-or-break part of the wine room in terms of function. They give emphasis to your wine collection. But installing the wrong light bulbs could damage your wines. For wine cellars, it is advisable to use LED bulbs that have zero to minimal heat emission as compared with the traditional incandescent bulbs. This unwanted heat could disturb the delicate aging process of your wines. Or in the worst-case scenario, it could ruin your wine collection.

For this contemporary wine cellar, adjustable LED lighting was used. The color and luminosity of the wine cellar could be adjusted from the touchscreen interface control panel outside the wine cellar. The ability to adjust the color and brightness of the lighting in real-time is one of the catchiest features of this wine cellar. The owner can adjust it depending on his mood or whim. You could say this is contemporary lighting in a beautiful modern wine cellar.

The color and luminosity of the RGB LED lighting in the modern wine cellar could be adjusted in real-time on the digital panel outside.

A Successful Modern Wine Cellar Project in Palm Springs

Steve and his team did an amazing job with this modern wine cellar. The modern design elements were successfully integrated into the wine cellar. The client has Vintage View metallic wine pegs for the racking system. It looked beautiful and wines placed on these wine pegs are secured thanks to its sturdy build. The cooling system works efficiently minus the clutter. The optimum temperature in the wine room won’t be affected by the fluctuating temperature in Palm Springs. Innovative wine cellar lighting is a huge “wow” factor for this wine cellar.
